Our toy pianos are handcrafted by Schoenhut. Schoenhut was founded in 1872 by a German emigrant. Since that time, Schoenhut Toy Pianos have evolved into not only a toy but a fine musical instrument. Schoenhut Toy Pianos are unsurpassed in durability, tone and pitch. Their chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking precision-ground, German steel music rods, unlike a full-sized piano’s taught wires. Each Schoenhut toy piano comes with Schoenhut’s patented Play By Color Learning System. A removable color strip (as shown in the Classic Baby Grand and Traditional Spinet pictures above) fits behind the keys. A songbook is included, containing a collection of familiar tunes. The Learning System was specifically designed to build a child’s confidence and to develop basic piano playing skills.
