Another gorgeous rendition by Jan Brett. What is always amazing about
Brett’s work is the meticulous detail in the illustrations.
Parents and children alike enjoy pouring over the illustrations,
finding new detail and meaning in each reading. Brett took her
inspiration for her Beauty and the Beast illustrations from many
historical sources (make sure to notice the tapestries). In addition to
the beauty of the illustrations, the retelling of the tale itself is
the best I have read, full of love, beauty and gentleness.
